In the first half of 2019, the national oil company, Sonatrach, will set up a program to integrate local companies into oil projects, according to the group’s director of promotion and local content development, Fahim Atik.
Speaking at a press conference held as part of the 27th edition of the Algerian Production Fair, the senior manager at Sonatrach explained that this program results in the creation of a one-stop shop for suppliers of goods and services, the creation of an information site for Algerian companies, as well as a uniform evaluation of these companies.
For Mr. Atik, this program will help Algerian companies in all areas, through periodic workshops and training. “This support by the Sonatrach group, will develop a significant human capital in these local businesses, able to adapt to all sectors of the economy,” he said.
For its part, the central director of Markets and Logistics, RĂ©da Defous, said that the new procurement procedure, to allow the Sonatrach group to fully integrate the promotion of local content in its projects, will soon be operational. It is almost ready. In a few days we will have this new procedure, “he said.
For the record, Sonatrach made the commitment to create a new structure dedicated to the integration of Algerian companies in its projects, during the holding of information days in September last in Algiers.
